My assignment: sculpture

For my piece i choose to let the assignment take me were ever it would lead me. This piece was very hard for me to understand. i could not think of an easier way to make a bubble gum bubble nor an easier to tie a shoe lace. So i decided to go against this and really though about every thing that would be incorporated in my piece. My piece incorporates a microphone stand, and fan mechanisism that was changed to suck air from a mouth piece and or mouth, that would be blown in to a sewn semi transpernt ball, that is a literal and a representation of a bubble. My piece is a self blown piece that takes the idea of blowing a bubble gum bubble, and almost eliminates the role of a person. My piece incorporates a snorkleing mouth piece that is placed on top of the opening that is the input of air flow. this small piece was placed on top of the microphone stand at mouth level. reason fro the stand is a very simple yet complicated element. i asked for suggestion in my piece for placement and such and a got microphone stand. At first it was kind of random, but after thinking about a M. stand and what i means to me, i thought of a interesting concept. ( Mainly when people blow bubble gum bubbles they are in competition with other they want to blow the biggest bubble to shohw their talent.) a microphone stand is a location were a person commands attention like the bubble. The sewn ball AKA the Bubble is only inflated with air flowing through the mouth piece if the opening is covered that ball keep the air and slowly starts to disinflate. THIS sort of happens if a person stands close up to the mouth piece, and the person feels the air being taken from the body even without trying. the ball becomes a container of several peoples air, in a way evry one contribute to the inflation of my piece, without even knowing.

Latest Sculpture assig.

So the latest piece that was assigned for sculpture is a two part piece. we had to do research on thing people do on a daily basis, such as putting socks on every day, blowing a piece of bubble gum or tie a shoe. i did my research on how to blow a bubble gum bubble, and a way in typing to tying a shoe. the entire class did an interesting research topic, but according to our teacher mostly every ones Research lacked the small detail, like placement of fingers or body part in better description. i think he has right, and i feel that there would always be something that would be missing. But from this we were suppose to make a piece that would make the chosen action much easier or completly eliminate the action in a way. this was a very hard project for me.

Knot for Karate Belt

How to blow: a bubble out of gum

1. Chew it vigorously until you feel that it's rubbery and smooth, rather than sticky, sandy and rough. Saliva helps a lot in this process, so go ahead and just mix the two of them.

2. When you feel that it's nice and firm, use your tongue to roll the gum into a ball and put it in the middle of your tongue.

3. Press the ball between your tongue and the roof of your mouth to make it flat, a bubblegum pancake, if you will.

4. Gently conduct this pancake and set it vertically on the back part of your front teeth, which should now be closed.

5.Slightly open your mouth and use your tongue to push the central part of the pancake out of your mouth between your teeth.

6. Your mouth should not be completely open, nor your teeth completely closed.

7. Still holding the border of the pancake between your front teeth, gently wrap your slightly moistened lips around the part of the gum sticking out of your mouth, and start blowing very slowly.
